Quezon City, September 18, 2025 — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD), under the leadership of Acting District Director PCOL RANDY GLENN SILVIO, announced the arrest of alias “John”, 25 years old, resident of Sta. Cruz, Manila, and one of the suspects in the robbery hold-up incident in front of a bar in Timog Avenue, Quezon City.
Initial investigation shows that at around 4:46 AM on September 14, 2025, the victim, a businessman, was accosted by two motorcycle-riding suspects using a white Yamaha NMAX version I and a black NMAX version II. Thereafter, the suspects fled with the victim’s black clutch bag containing Php100,000 cash, credit cards, and personal IDs.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) immediately convened on the same day for an in-depth investigation and swift resolution of the case. The team member conducted forward and backtracking operations and was able to track one of the getaway vehicles, a white Yamaha NMAX from a repair shop in Valenzuela City. The shop owner positively identified John as the customer who left the motorcycle for repair and later arranged its delivery to Cavite via Lalamove. Subsequent CCTV review further confirmed that on September 12, 2025, two days before the robbery, John personally received the motorcycle in Imus, Cavite. It was also discovered that the suspects had duplicated the plate number of another NMAX unit to conceal their identities.
Acting on this lead, joint operatives of Kamuning Police Station 10, District Investigation Division (DID), Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU), District Special Operations Unit (DSOU), District Anti-Carnapping Unit (DACU) and PS-3, MPD in coordination with, PRO-4A, launched a hot-pursuit operation, leading to the arrest of aka John about 9:35 PM on September 15, 2025 in Brgy. Alapan 2-A, Imus, Cavite.
Seized from his possession were One (1) Tec-9 9mm pistol with nineteen (19) live ammunition and one (1) magazine; One (1) white Yamaha NMAX motorcycle; Clothing and helmet used during the crime; and One (1) Louis Vuitton pouch.
Upon checking through the Investigation Solution Automatic Verification (ISAV) system, John was also found to have standing Warrants of Arrest for Robbery with Homicide, issued by Branch 115, Regional Trial Court (RTC), Angeles City and Attempted Murder, issued by Branch 36, RTC Manila.
The arrested suspect was charged for Robbery Hold-Up before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office. A case for Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition will be filed separately in Cavite. Follow-up operation is being conducted for the arrest of his cohort, who remains at large.
“Through the swift coordination of our operating units and the diligence of our Special Investigation Team, we were able to track down and arrest one of the suspects within 40 hours. This reflects QCPD’s adherence to the Acting Chief, PNP agenda, especially in employing Enhanced Managing Police Operations and strengthening risk management at all levels, with the support of RD, NCRPO. QCPD will relentlessly pursue all angles until justice is served,” PCOL SILVIO assured.###
